Ponorné sondy typu PS3 zaznamenávají hydrostatický tlak, který převádí na analogový výstup. Výstupní signál se mění proporcionálně k výšce hladiny, sondy pracují na principu relativního tlaku. Pro vyrovnání tlaku je v kabelu sondy vyvedena kapilární trubice. Ponorné sondy jsou určeny pro kapalná média různé viskozity , pro indikaci hladiny v tancích, v hasičských nádržích, ve vrtaných otvorech pro studny, v čistírnách odpadních vod, u přítoku tekoucích kapalin. Přesnost měření a jeho dlouhodobá stabilita přispívají ke spolehlivosti provozu ponorných sond. Materiál sondy V4A dle DIN 1.4571; PA.
